Join Kate McKinnon for a design session in sunny Tucson,
Arizona!

I have two new books in progress at this
time- no new classes are scheduled at this time. Please let me know if you have a group you would
like to book. I can usually accomodate something like that.
I have a really nice space available not only
for teaching, but for putting up two students. These will be
mixed media design sessions, which kind of echo what I'm doing
with Gail Moore, addressing the totality of a piece in progress,
so we'll make our own components, and put them together. Each
class will be three days long, with four hours of direct instruction
and demo each day, and the rest of the time for project development.
Each student will make one incredible, amazing, planned piece
of jewelry, and a ring. All levels are welcome, and I can gear
your projects to whatever your skill level and interest is. There
are so many choices when we work mixed media. Advanced students
will probably accomplish more finished work than beginners, but
even that is hard to predict.
We can do silver metal clay, bronze clay, tradtional metalsmithing,
glass work, stringing, wirework, resin work, and whatever else
can be accomplished in my studio space. The class fee includes
an ounce of silver clay, one of bronze, stringing and finishing
materials, fine silver, copper, brass and bronze wire, jeweler's
resin, and the use of studio equipment and tools.
Accomodations are available on site for two, and there are plenty
of neat places to stay in town. I'll be happy to help you find
a perfect place to stay. I'm looking forward to these small sessions,
and I hope to see some of you down my way this fall and winter.
