Join me for a glorious week in sunny Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!

January 3-9, 2009

$1500 includes your lodging and food at Hacienda Mosaico, tuition, and basic class materials. What a deal! Your room will be shared with another student (large bedrooms with two twin beds and a bathroom) so maybe consider coming with a friend? Wireless internet is available, the power outlets are the same as ours, and the resort is just a few blocks from the beach.

I am coming with a friend

Please note that your workshop fee is non-refundable, unless I can fill your space.

Also, please only sign up for this class if you are comfortable with travel, don't mind sharing a room with another student, and will enjoy a week in sunny Mexico. For example, if you dislike the beach, or the sound of Spanish, or relaxing, this might not be the trip for you?

The class will focus on assembling individual components into completed pieces. I will present a series of component projects, all of which will work together. Make beaded beads, ropes, flowers, leaves, wireworked elements, make your own clasps and use our metal armatures and components in your own unique pieces. Each student will have the opportunity not only to relax in a beautiful environment, but to explore new ways of finishing their work.

Curious about the location? From the web site:

Hacienda Mosaico is expansive, tropical and artful.

This walled garden hacienda with swimming pool and inviting common areas is artist owned operated. Art abounds! Made on site mosaic tables and fused glass tableware serve to enhance your breakfast in this lush garden setting. Palm, mango, guayaba, and banana trees, along with flowering ginger, hibiscus, jasmine, bird of paradise as well as the ever-present bougainvillea create delight for all the senses.

This art filled Hacienda welcomes singles, couples, small groups and workshops. It is located in Colonia Versalles, a typical upscale Mexican neighborhood that affords visitors a chance to experience the charm of daily life in old Mexico. You will find cobbled streets, where tortillerias and markets catering to the locals rather than the tourists..craft shops, cantinas, night life and adventure. Hacienda Mosaico is ideal for small retreats and intimate parties as well as a quiet respite from the busy world.a tranquil vacation destination in a tropical environment for adults.

Independent travelers often prefer B&B accommodations rather than a hotel because it offers the opportunity to meet the local community. As with most seaside resort towns, the closer you move to the beach the more built up and touristy it becomes. Moving only a short distance away from the ocean you quickly step into old Mexico. With the beach only blocks away, Hacienda Mosaico offers a quiet, friendly, residential neighborhood and the convenience of a central location. Here it is possible to experience the "real Mexico".
